Bulky Waste and Other Debris

Bulky waste may be disposed of at the Casco/Naples Bulky Waste Facility on Leach Hill road in Casco. Municipal numbered sticker is necessary to enter facility.

How to Get There:

Casco/Naples Bulky Waste Facility is located in Casco, off Leach Hill Road. Take State Route 121 to the village center of Casco, turn right just pass the green, drive to the stop sign, take a left on to Leach Hill Road. Follow this very windy road until you pass the Casco Transfer Station on the right. The next drive way on the right is to the Bulky Waste Facility.

What Materials Are Accepted:

Brochure available at the Town Office.

Materials accepted will include, but no be limited to the following items:

• Roofing shingles – must be free of paper, plastic, wood, flashing etc. No asbestos shingles or foreign matter.           
• Porcelain/Glass – includes sinks, toilets, tubs.          
• Tires – must be free of rim. On-site fee of $5.00 for any tire on a rim.
• Freon Items - refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners. (Must remove doors from any refrigerator or freezer)
• Waste oil - we will not accept waste oil contaminated with water, antifreeze, gas or other liquids and chemicals.
• Pressure treated wood – needs to be separated from other construction debris.
• Building demolition debris – needs to be reduced to 4-foot lengths. No metals, glass, or shingles.
• Doors and windows – doors and windows that still have a use will be stored for re-use.
• Sheetrock
•  Brush – clean brush under 6 inches in diameter.
•  Large round wood – over 6 inches in diameter needs to be reduced to 4-foot lengths.
•  Stumps – need to be reasonably free of soil and rocks. (Otisfield Residents responsible for fee)
•  Furniture, mattresses & bulky items
• Yard waste – includes grass clippings, leaves, pine needles, etc.
•  Metal – heavy iron, steel, aluminum, copper, tin, lead. Small engines must be drained of gas and oil.  Cannot take junk cars or large items unless reduced in size. (Engines must be removed along with fuel tanks and batteries.) Vehicle Titles may be required.

You will not be charged for the use of the facility.

Commercial Contractors:

You will have to pay at the scale or set up an account with the facility. If you are working for an Otisfield tax payer you may get a dated pass from the town office to use the facility. For your own residence bulky waste you will need to get a day pass to use the facility and not pay.

On Site Fee:

Stump dumping will have to paid by Otisfield Residents the Town will not pay the charges.
