Dog Licensing Information
2006 Dog Licenses are Available

It is a Maine law that once a dog reaches the age of 6 months and thereafter, they need to be licensed from the period of January 1st to December 31st of each year.

In Otisfield, you may obtain the license beginning in November for the upcoming year provided you bring into the town office your dogs neutering/spaying certificate  if applicable) and current rabies certificate from the veterinarian with a valid expiration date. (For younger dogs the vaccines are good for one year, older dog vaccines are now good for three years).

Please Note: After January 31st there is a state imposed late fee of $15 in addition to the regular fees for EACH unlicensed dog. If the dog(s) remain unlicensed after March 31st the late fee is increase to $25 each and a list is submitted to the animal control officer where further action may be taken if necessary.
