Committee/Board Ethics Policy
Purpose:
To comply with State of StateplaceMaine’s, “ Freedom of Access Act”.
Policy:
No Board/Committee business will be conducted outside the context of a duly noticed public meeting of the Board/Committee. This is a direct violation of placeStateMaine’s “Freedom of Access Act”.
Scope:
This applies to ALL Municipal Boards, Elected or Appointed. No member of Board/Committee will have discussion with other Board/Committee members outside the public meeting. Discussion concerning the Boards/Committee’s business with individuals (non board/committee members) is also not acceptable.
Accountability:
Each Board/Committee member is responsible for adhering to this policy. Violation of policy could, but is not limited to, removal from Board/Committee.
